FAITH + UNITY BANNER

CREATED WITH CONTRIBUTING ARTISTS & JOHN HOLT

COMMISSIONED BY LAW MAGAZINE

Sadie led a series of 10 patch-making workshops, centring on the theme of 'Youth', with participants of all sewing abilities, from the charities Accumulate and Crisis. The piece was created using 100% donated and dead-stock materials. The banner was sewn together at Sadie's studio, featuring the colours and fonts of The Museum Of Youth Culture, who commissioned the piece to be installed at their exhibition 'Grown Up in Britain - 100 Years of Teenage Kicks', on display at The Herbert Art Gallery & Museum, Coventry (Aug 2022 - Feb 2023).

TOM HOLT TRIBUTE/MEMORIAL BANNEr

CREATED WITH TOM HOLT

A special banner created with and for John Holt, in remembrance of his brother Tom Holt. The banner was featured on the inside cover of John's LAW Magazine, Issue 10, and hung at the London launch event.

PROCESSIONS WOMENS MARCH BANNEr

CREATED WITH GIRLGUIDING YOUTH ADVOCATES

COMMISSIONED BY 14-18NOW

A banner created with Girlguiding UK Youth Advocates for 'Processions' Women's March in 2018, marking the centenary of (some) women getting the right to vote. Through 2 days of workshops, Youth Advocates and Sadie created a metallic banner that featured hand-collaged patches, each of which represented issues that they felt passionately about (including: body positivity, women in science + tech, LGBTQI+ rights, having a voice, period poverty, female empowerment, intrepidation + disability rights and awareness). The banner was commissioned by 14_18.org.

‘FAMILY’ BANNEr

CREATED WITH YOUTH PARTICIPANTS FROM ELEMENT, A CHARITY THAT CREATES “ARTS PROJECTS EXPLORING PURPOSE, MOTIVATION & CREATIVITY WITH CARE LEAVERS

Sadie gave a presentation of her work and led a workshop with participants from Element charity.

Together we designed a ‘Family’ themed banner which played on the idea of a family tree, and represented what ‘family’ meant to the participants.

The banner was sewn at Sadie’s studio and exhibited at the Element x Crisis Showcase, at The Photographers Gallery in London, Spring 2023.
